All information received from represented clients or developed by the Firm during representation is considered to be confidential, including social security numbers. Such information is not released by the Firm to third parties unless authorized by the client, required or otherwise anticipated by the client as a part of their representation, or pursuant to order of a court. Unless otherwise instructed by a client, the Firm handles routine correspondence and document delivery via electronic means. Electronic copies of documents may be backed up offsite, including to online databases. The Firm cannot guarantee the security of email or other electronic means of communication or online file storage. Except as stated, all confidential information is maintained in secured files within the office of the Firm until such time as files are either removed to a secure off-premise location and/or at the end of the agreed upon file retention period, after which any hard copies or diskettes containing such files are shredded or destroyed prior to disposal.
